From January 6-19, 2021, the Office of Graduate Studies will offer a 2-week program to prepare TAs for the classroom. This program is designed for newer or beginning TAs or anyone interested in learning more about teaching even if they are not currently in the classroom. The program will be virtual so you do not have to be in Lincoln to participate but you should be able to commit to actively participate and complete the coursework during that time.

Topics will include: effective teaching strategies, giving effective presentations, asking and answering student questions, student rapport and motivation, classroom management, grading and assessment, and active learning. There will also be regular opportunities to practice your teaching skills.

Register soon to reserve your space in the training program as space is limited.

The 2-week Institute for International Teaching Assistants will be offered in conjunction with this program and departments should contact Lisa Rohde at lrohde2@unl.edu for the registration form link for eligible students.

If you have any questions, please contact Lisa Rohde at lrohde2@unl.edu
