Upcoming webinar will emphasize intergroup contact for program development to reduce bias

March 4, 2021 | 12-1 PM, via Zoom

As a land grant institution that leverages the diversity of thought, the Inclusive Leadership and Learning Unit (ILL) in the Office of Diversity & Inclusion, seeks to comprehensively engage the University with the expectation that everyone will contribute to inclusive excellence, through facilitated learning/training, webinars, workshops, and dialogues.

Through the "Belong, Grow, Practice and Lead" webinar series, ILL aims to provide the opportunity for ALL to deepen their understanding and enhance their skills around matters of inclusivity in local and global communities.

The next webinar will feature Dr. Jordan Soliz who will expand upon Intergroup Contact in the College and University.

There are many initiatives and programs in higher education aimed at recognizing our biases. Unfortunately, simply being aware of our biases does not necessarily minimize or improve perceptions of others. The purpose of the webinar is to provide an overview of intergroup contact as a potential framework for developing programs to reduce bias in college and university communities.
