2021-2022 Graduate Assistantship: College of Education and Human Sciences

The College of Education and Human Sciences (CEHS) has one Graduate Assistantship (GA) available beginning May 2021:

  • Finance/Accounting. Students must be a current business student or in a business-related field (e.g., Ag Econ)
  • Begins May 2021
  • Stipend: $14,500 per academic year for MS students, $16,840 for Doctoral students
  • Potential up to 40 hours per week mid-May through mid-August. 19.6 hours per week during the academic year, summer pay prorated for planned working hours to be negotiated
  • Benefits in addition to the monthly stipend include tuition remission up to 12 credit hours per semester and 79% of student health insurance premiums for the academic year
  • Position location: Louise Pound Hall, City campus
Duties:
  • Supervise undergraduate student workers
  • Use SAP accounting software
  • Review all financial accounts for CEHS and ensure all charges have appropriate backup documentation
  • Assist CEHS Grants Specialists/CEHS faculty with development of grant proposal budgets, assuring compliance with agency and university policies
  • Prepare and process proposal routing forms, monitor budgets
  • Provide budget reports/projections
  • Other CEHS Business Team projects as assigned
  • Some assistance to the HR/payroll group performing HR actions such as verifying payroll for accuracy
Requirements:
  • Available to meet regularly with supervisor on campus
  • Able to work 19.6 hours per week
  • Must be enrolled for credit (during time of appointment) in graduate program at UNL for fall and spring semesters
Required Minimum Qualifications:
  • Attention to Detail
  • Base knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous accounting or finance employment experience
  • Previous Internship experience
  • Microsoft Access experience
  • SAP software experience
