The College of Education and Human Sciences (CEHS) has one Graduate Assistantship (GA) available beginning May 2021:
- Finance/Accounting. Students must be a current business student or in a business-related field (e.g., Ag Econ)
- Begins May 2021
- Stipend: $14,500 per academic year for MS students, $16,840 for Doctoral students
- Potential up to 40 hours per week mid-May through mid-August. 19.6 hours per week during the academic year, summer pay prorated for planned working hours to be negotiated
- Benefits in addition to the monthly stipend include tuition remission up to 12 credit hours per semester and 79% of student health insurance premiums for the academic year
- Position location: Louise Pound Hall, City campus
- Supervise undergraduate student workers
- Use SAP accounting software
- Review all financial accounts for CEHS and ensure all charges have appropriate backup documentation
- Assist CEHS Grants Specialists/CEHS faculty with development of grant proposal budgets, assuring compliance with agency and university policies
- Prepare and process proposal routing forms, monitor budgets
- Provide budget reports/projections
- Other CEHS Business Team projects as assigned
- Some assistance to the HR/payroll group performing HR actions such as verifying payroll for accuracy
- Available to meet regularly with supervisor on campus
- Able to work 19.6 hours per week
- Must be enrolled for credit (during time of appointment) in graduate program at UNL for fall and spring semesters
- Attention to Detail
- Base knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Previous accounting or finance employment experience
- Previous Internship experience
- Microsoft Access experience
- SAP software experience
