The Inclusive STEM Teaching Project is a 6-week course designed to advance the awareness, self-efficacy, and ability of STEM faculty, postdocs, graduate students, and staff to cultivate inclusive learning environments. The project’s first Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) launches June 15, 2021 via edX, and will engage participants in deep reflection and discussion around topics of equity and inclusion across a variety of institutional contexts.

Current and future faculty will learn to implement evidence-based inclusive teaching methods in their classrooms and course designs which will remove common barriers and enhance learning in STEM for all students. In addition to asynchronous online activities, participants at participating institutions can join synchronous virtual learning communities led by trained facilitators. Learning communities supplement the course content by promoting deeper reflection of the material and connecting course learners to each other in a meaningful way.

This project is grant-funded by the National Science Foundation, and is a collaboration between Boston University, Northwestern University, University of Michigan, University of Wisconsin – Madison, University of Georgia, Des Moines Area Community College, and University of Utah.

Register for the course via edX. For more information about the project visit, the website or email inclusivestemteaching@gmail.com.
