This event will feature three workshops: grading and assessment; understanding student needs and building rapport; and designing lesson plans. Teaching resources for TAs and policies for instructors at UNL will also be part of the discussion.

On August 16, 2022, from 8:15 a.m. to 1 p.m., the Office of Graduate Studies will be host Orientation for New Teaching Assistants (TAs). This event will feature three workshops:

  • Grading and Assessment
  • Understanding Student Needs and Building Rapport
  • Designing Lesson Plans
Teaching resources for TAs and policies for instructors at UNL will also be part of the discussion. This orientation will provide information to support TAs in all types of roles at UNL.

All attendees will be given access to Canvas modules on teaching. There will also be a virtual panel of experienced TAs from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. on August 16, 2022 on Zoom.
