The Graduate Student Assembly (GSA) invites you to participate in the NAVIGATE leadership workshop in STEM with the goal to equip you with necessary skills so that you succeed in academia. The workshop will be held at the city campus from October 21-23, 2022 starting at 9 a.m. and ending around 5 p.m. daily except October 23 when it will be wrapped up by 2 p.m.

The NAVIGATE Project aims to increase STEM graduates who persist in their chosen disciplines and achieve leadership roles. This professional development program will equip you with practical skills for navigating through gender bias, inequity, discrimination, and substandard wages that you might experience while studying or in the workplace after you graduate. The workshop will be highly interactive and allow you to network with peers across campus. This workshop is facilitated by faculty at UNL and Provost Liesl Folks from University of Arizona. It includes keynotes and training on topics which have been very well-received during past workshops at other universities such as how to deal with hardships, negotiate salary, build a network of mentors and allies in academia. It is also an excellent opportunity to network with peers, get personalized advice, and make an addition to your CV.

All UNL students are welcome to participate. Lunches and dinners are included. There is a limit to the number of participants for this workshop, please register as soon as possible. Register to secure your seat: https://bit.ly/3RqvEVC
