Are you interested in learning about teaching? The Office of Graduate Studies will offer a training opportunity for graduate students and postdocs to learn more about teaching. This is intended for graduate students or postdocs with limited or no teaching experiences and will serve as an introduction to teaching strategies. You do not have to currently be teaching to attend.

This program is open to all graduate students or postdocs, but will be limited to 25 students. This program with feature classes and discussion groups on teaching skills focusing on topics such as giving effective presentations and lesson planning, teaching methods and active learning, classroom management, assessment and grading, and how students learn. Students will also have the opportunity to teach practice lessons and get feedback on those from peers and the instructor.

This program will begin January 5, 2023 and continue until January 18, 2023. The first week (January 5-6) will be held virtually and the sessions the following weeks will be held in person, so students need to be available to meet in person those weeks. The classes on January 9-13 and 17-18 will be held from 9 a.m. to noon.
