The Nebraska Women’s Leadership Network invites all students to a special series of free events with alumna Keri Mesropov during homecoming week, Oct. 24 – 25.

Mesropov will host four pop up sessions for students to learn the powerful skills that will launch them into the workplace.

The Art and Science of Negotiation and Self Advocacy in the Workplace

Big and small, negotiations take place every day, multiple times a day. As you head into the professional world, you’ll be met with the need to negotiate projects, time and deadlines, skill-building development, cross-departmental priorities, relationships and your own needs for recognition and work-life balance. In this Glow Up, learn just how many and what types of micro negotiations exist. Most of all, learn how to negotiate with care, empathy, clarity and with the long-term in mind.

Mastering Confidence in Conflict Resolution

Bringing our full selves to the workplace helps create an inclusive and supportive work environment and increases engagement, creativity, innovation, as well as team-wide collaboration. And…we must balance our openness and vulnerability with the right level of professionalism so that we and the organizations we serve flourish with positivity. Learn how to ‘be you’ in the workplace while keeping a professional and ‘we all belong here’ mindset.

Feedback

Research is clear and constant: The single best professional development tool is feedback. But giving and receiving it can be clunky and anxiety producing. This Glow Up will provide you with an easy, no-drama framework for giving feedback, plus fun, actionable tips to ask for feedback from colleagues, teammates and leaders. Starting a habit of feedback now will accelerate your career and help you stand out in the workplace.

In addition, alumnae and students are invited to a special session on Tuesday, Oct. 24 at 5:30 p.m. at the Wick Alumni Center where Mesropov will share her top-proven steps to accomplish your networking goals. Following her session, alumnae will have the opportunity to connect with students so they can practice their new superpowered networking skills.

The Nebraska Women’s Leadership Network, is a program of the Nebraska Alumni Association that promotes the growth and education of women and creates a nationwide network of women leaders who each have ties to UNL.
