Teaching Assistant Opportunity for Scientific Writing Course

A teaching assistant position is available for the Scientific Writing and Communication course (PLAS 403 / AGRO 803) in spring 2024. As a TA, you will provide feedback to approximately 15 students on improving their scientific writing manuscripts.

The main responsibilities involve working closely with the instructor as part of a team to review and critique student drafts. Although not required, there will be opportunities to develop course materials and be actively involved in teaching for interested candidates.

This position offers valuable experience in evidence-based pedagogy, mentoring, interdisciplinary writing, and refining your own writing, reading, editing, and critical analysis abilities.

Qualified applicants must have:

Enthusiasm for developing self and others
Strong work ethic
Ability to work in a team
Attention to detail and timeliness
Some STEM experience (preferred but not required)
