The “mini” writing retreats welcome current graduate and professional students, as well as post-docs. These 90-minute sessions will be conducted entirely on Zoom without recording. Given the shorter duration of these “mini” retreats compared to traditional ones, the core objective is to provide students and post-docs with a scheduled time and space exclusively dedicated to writing. This focused approach aims to create an environment conducive to productive writing for various projects, including dissertations, creative writing collections, articles, and more.
The retreat is designed to offer participants a structured writing experience, comprising a dedicated writing block, a preparatory writing activity, and a concluding reflection debrief. Action plans for the upcoming session or individual writing periods will be formulated during this debrief. Tailoring to the diverse needs of participants, sessions may incorporate targeted writing routine strategies, micro-peer review sessions, and concise lessons addressing specific writing concerns.
This “early riser” retreat will meet from 830am-10am on Zoom. Participants will need to bring a writing project to work on during the retreat.
