The McNair Scholars Program will be hiring an AY 2024-25 Graduate Assistant who must also be available for the 2025 McNair Summer Research Experience. The McNair assistantship is based in the Office of Graduate Studies and would provide support to the Graduate Student and Professional Development Team as well as to the McNair Scholars Program.
The McNair assistantship is for 19.6 hours during the academic year 2024-25, and 30-35 hours for the Summer 2025. The hours need to be worked between 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday-Friday when our office is open, except when we have after-hours McNair meetings.
Primary responsibilities will include project support of the McNair Scholars Program, including but not limited to mentoring and student support, program development and evaluation, and communication. Additional responsibilities will include supporting the Office of Graduate Studies professional development programming (e.g., Preparing Future Faculty, Institute for International Teaching Assistants, and Graduate Student Orientations). This position is ideal for graduate students interested in exploring professional development programming and mentoring within higher education.
