New subscription to Food Science database, trial access to resources on research methods for the Social Sciences and Sciences

UNL Libraries is excited to announce a new subscription to the FSTA (Food, Science, and Technology Abstracts) database on the EBSCOhost platform, as well as trial access through the end of April to Sage Campus and new modules of Sage Research Methods.

We recently subscribed to FSTA, which is a resource that will support many areas of campus including Animal Science, Extension, Family and Consumer Science, Microbiology, Food Science and Technology, and Horticulture. This database indexes content from journals, patents, books, conference proceedings, reports, theses, standards, and legislation, covering subject areas such as:

Major food commodities

Biotechnology, microbiology

Food safety, additives, nutrition, and packaging

Pet foods

Sage Campus and Sage Research Methods (additional modules) - Database Trials

Announcing a campus-wide trial of Sage Research Methods Complete and Sage Campus now through April 30th, 2025:

Sage Research Methods (https://libproxy.unl.edu/login?url=https://methods.sagepub.com/) – UNL has already purchased a substantial portion of this extensive collection of books, datasets, videos, methodology handbooks, cases, and expert interviews covering qualitative research methods in the social sciences. The trial adds access to all remaining content on the Sage Research Methods platform.

Sage Campus (https://libproxy.unl.edu/login?url=https://classroom.sagepub.com/) – A point-of-need resource featuring ready-made, structured courses ​focused on the essential skills and stages of the research process​ This resource extends the instructional reach of librarians and faculty to meet the needs of researchers at all levels. Note: Users create a Sage account separate from their UNL account to save progress in each module.
