This summer, the Writing Center is excited to offer three ways for graduate students to receive no-cost support with their writing projects: a writing retreat for graduate students and faculty, summer writing groups, and summer hours.

Writing Center/IDEA Writing Retreat, May 19-22: The Writing Center’s writing retreat will run from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm each day in Andrews Hall. In addition to dedicated writing time, the retreat will include goal-setting activities as well as optional breakout sessions and wellness activities. Breakfast, lunch, and snacks will be provided. The retreat is co-sponsored by CAS, CEHS, FPA, and Graduate Studies, and it is free of charge for participants. Spaces are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Register now at https://go.unl.edu/wcwritingretreat.

Writing groups for graduate students and faculty: From June 2-August 1, Writing Center staff will host weekly meetings for graduate student and faculty writers who are interested in building community and accountability into their writing practice. Groups will meet for 75 minutes at the same time every week. Regular attendance is required. Interested writers should complete this form no later than Friday, May 28: https://go.unl.edu/wcwritinggroups.

Summer hours: This summer, the Writing Center will be offering one-with-one writing consultations from June 2-July 10. These consultations are available by appointment between 10:00 am-2:30 pm, Monday-Thursday. Once the summer schedule is live, writers can visit https://unl.mywconline.com to schedule an appointment.
