Students Invited to Celebrate Faculty Impact with “Thank a Teacher” Program

Students are encouraged this week to take a moment to recognize the instructors who have made a difference in their academic or personal journeys. Through the Thank A Teacher program, coordinated by the Center for Transformative Teaching (CTT) in collaboration with ASUN, students can share messages of appreciation with faculty who have inspired, supported, or challenged them in meaningful ways. The program is happening now and continues through the end of the week.

Why Your Message Matters
Faculty members do not always hear how their work resonates with students. Thank A Teacher helps bridge that gap by creating space for gratitude and supporting meaningful connections across the campus community, where even a small gesture can make a lasting impact. Participation remains open through the end of the week, offering multiple opportunities for students to share a message of appreciation.

How the Program Works
Students can participate by writing a handwritten postcard or submitting a brief electronic message. All messages will be collected by the Center for Transformative Teaching (CTT) and delivered to instructors in April. Postcards have been distributed to various departments across campus, and students can also stop by staffed booths at the City Campus Union and East Campus Union throughout the week. Representatives from CTT and ASUN will be available from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. each day to provide materials, answer questions, and assist with submissions.

Organizers also extend their appreciation to the students who have already submitted messages of thanks. Your early involvement helps the program begin on a strong note.

Students are encouraged to participate before the end of the week by taking a few minutes to write a note—whether on a postcard or online—and letting an instructor know how much their efforts matter.
