Kudos Corner

This week’s honoree is Roddy Spangler, office associate in the Department of Agricultural Leadership, Education and Communication. Roddy coordinates travel arrangements for faculty, maintains accounting records and reconciles state-funded accounts for the department, serves as purchasing agent and offers clerical support and accounting for the Nebraska Human Resources Institute.

Roddy’s colleague, Jennifer Greenlee, describes her:

“Every day I witness Roddy answer every question the faculty and anyone else has in a respectful and concise manner. She knows more about her job than anyone in the department, and she takes her job duties for IANR and ALEC very seriously. In dealing with the department’s accounts, she is very diligent in looking out for the department’s best interest and does it in a by-the-book kind of way. Every day I witness her going out of her way to get a purchase request filled. She will go above and beyond to get someone in IANR paid back for a trip, luncheon, or anything else they had to purchase for the University. And, she does all of this with respect for the system, the University purchasing rules, and the individual. I highly respect Roddy for the way she has to enforce the University’s purchasing policies and she does all of it with a sincere smile.”

Is there a co-worker you’d like to see recognized here for his or her service?
