Democratic National Convention
Democratic National Convention

Advertising/PR and Journalism students: Travel to Charlotte, N.C., in May to apply multimedia storytelling and advertising techniques. Your work will be related to the fact that Charlotte is hosting the Democratic National Convention. Advertising/PR students will work with the agency that is helping promote Charlotte to the convention organizers. Journalism students will focus on interviewing local residents to learn about life in Charlotte before the convention changes everything.

Get three credits for three weeks of class. The first week you will learn how to use multimedia, mobile and social media to tell stories. In the second week you will travel to Charlotte. Journalism students will cover news stories and AD/PR students will work with those who are promoting the city of Charlotte. During the third week back in Lincoln, students will put the finishing touches on all the work they did in Charlotte.

This is a great opportunity to add work related to a major national event to your portfolio.
