The National Strategic Research Institute (NSRI) at the University of Nebraska conducts national security research and creates solutions for agencies throughout the Department of Defense. Since it was established in 2012, NSRI has been awarded more than $162 million of work. To support its ongoing growth, NSRI is seeking an enthusiastic, talented and detail-oriented social media specialist to demonstrate the institute’s capabilities, highlight its experts and story-tell around its mission via LinkedIn and Twitter.

Responsibilities:
> Embrace and maintain the NSRI brand
> Write/produce, schedule, publish daily/weekly social media and web content
> Report metrics regularly
> Create and execute content campaigns
> Take photos, design basic graphics, shoot and produce basic videos
> Bring new ideas forward!

Requirments:
> Full-time enrolled NU student 2020-2021
> Minimum GPA of 3.0
> Completed one full year of undergraduate program
> Excellent platform-specific writing skills — web, social media, articles, releases, feature stories
> Excellent interview skills to draw out the most interesting details from featured guests
> Team player who is willing to take constructive feedback, but also advocate for their ideas
> Excellent attention to detail
> Knowledgeable in technical aspects of social media platforms
> Up-to-date understanding of current trends and tools
> Enthusiasm to dig into research and details

* Pay is $11/hour; 10 hours per week. Virtual or in-office position.
