Community Engagement Manager - NET (Lincoln, NE)

NET, Nebraska’s PBS & NPR Stations is looking for a professional to support NET’s vision to connect and empower every Nebraskan. Under the direction of the Assistant General Manager, Development/Marketing/Education, the manager of community engagement will support NET’s vision to connect and empower every Nebraskan. This person will be a key member of the team working to identify and connect the organization with diverse groups in rural as well as urban regions of the state. This position is responsible for managing multiple local and national projects, many with grant funding. Use national content from PBS, NPR as well as local programs/resources from NET to extend the reach and impact of the organization. Collect information from community groups to inform our work and build a deeper understanding of our communities’ needs and aspirations. Must have strong project management, organization and communication skills and be a collaborative minded team player. This person will also gather information for grant applications and maintain budgets associated with them.

Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, community planning or other relevant field of study or equivalency. Three years of experience working with community organizations in an informal educational capacity required. Community involvement, non-profit and or related industry experience is essential. Experience with logistics, planning, and group facilitation necessary. Background must demonstrate excellent interpersonal, oral/written communications and relationship building skills; the ability to work with diverse constituencies; and the ability to work & solve problems independently. Must be familiar with media production.
