Digital Content Coordinator - History Nebraska (Lincoln, NE)

History Nebraska is seeking a highly-motivated and creative individual to serve as the agency’s Digital Content Coordinator. As a member of the marketing team, this position is accountable for developing and maintaining the agency’s social media platforms, managing the website, and taking photographs for marketing needs. This position works directly with the marketing director to manage History Nebraska’s brand in the digital world and share our fantastic content with our followers. History Nebraska is a statewide educational institution that connects people to the past through our library and research center, conservation facility, interpretive sites, and the state archeology and historic preservation offices. History Nebraska’s objective is to become the most engaging and relevant state historical society in the nation.

Examples of Work:
> Coordinate the agency’s social media strategy and maintain a calendar of engaging digital content for our social media channels.
> Manage and reply to comments on social media channels, and moderate an active digital space for dialogue and conversation.
> Work with employees to create content for social media channels.
> Monitor and measure digital platforms for performance and effectiveness of content.
> Respond to messages received on social media platforms.
> Manage and maintain History Nebraska’s website, including content coordination, event listings, and web aesthetics.
> Take photographs at agency events and functions to be used for marketing and digital content purposes.
> Be a champion of the History Nebraska brand in the tone of voice and visual appeal in all forms of digital communication.

REQUIREMENTS: Voc/Tech diploma or Associate Degree in journalism, communications, public relations or related field plus one year of experience in planning and conducting public relations/information activities. Experience may substitute for education on a year for year basis.

PREFERRED: One year experience managing social media accounts for an organization.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
> Strong copywriting, editing, and proofreading skills.
> Experience with digital content editing tools: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Premiere Rush, and other Adobe products.
> Experience with Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Hootsuite, and other social media platforms and tools.
> Have an eye for basic photography and design aesthetics.
> Experience with Drupal or other web content management systems is a plus.
> Team player with a willingness to learn.
> Self-motivated and results-driven who is passionate about their work.
