Brand Content Specialist - National Strategic Research Institute (Lincoln, NE)

The National Strategic Research Institute (NSRI) at the University of Nebraska is seeking a driven, action-oriented University of Nebraska–Lincoln student to help run our social media channels and create and execute strategic communications campaigns and assets.

Through this paid ($11/hour), year-long internship, you will expand your professional, tactical and leadership skills. The commitment is 15 hours per week from May 2021 - May 2022. Hours are flexible based on your class schedule. The work location will be Nebraska Innovation Campus and virtual.

Learning Objectives:
> Introduction to strategic planning — industry research, competition analysis, platform research
> Development of project management skills — campaign brief writing, editorial calendar administration, job trafficking, task management system administration
> Refinement of content creation abilities — copywriting, visual asset creation

Requirements:
> Enrolled as a full-time University of Nebraska–Lincoln student for the 2021-2022 academic year
> Completed at least one year of a four-year undergraduate degree program
> Minimum GPA of 3.0 on 4.0 scale
> Due to the nature of the work at NSRI, U.S. citizenship is required

Required Skills:
> Excellent platform-specific writing skills
> Team player who is willing to take constructive feedback, but also advocate for their ideas
> Excellent attention to detail
> Ability to hit multiple deadlines a week
> Knowledgeable in technical aspects of social media platforms
> Up-to-date understanding of current trends and tools
> Basic Photoshop and InDesign skills

Preferred Skills:
> Advanced graphic design using Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
> Photography and photo editing
> Videography and video editing

Responsibilities:
> Embrace and maintain the NSRI brand
> Strategize content campaigns
> Develop and execute non-content tactics
> Write and create content
> Schedule and publish daily content
> Report metrics regularly
