WOWT/Gray Television seeks a talented and energetic producer to join our award-winning teams. The producer will select, write and assemble a blend of stories in a compelling, urgent and interesting newscast for on-air and on-line. He/she will have a demonstrated ability to work individually or as part of a team to produce compelling packages on deadline and the time management skills to produce news stories for WOWT.
Your general responsibilities would include the following:
> Selecting, writing and assembling news for broadcast and digital platforms
> Monitoring additional feeds for supplemental material
> Working closely with the news management in the design and delivery of the content and style of individual newscast
> May include overnight and/or weekend hours as well
Requirements:
> A bachelor’s degree in communication, journalism or related field
> Prior experience as a “line” producer in a television news operation preferred
> Great communication and people skills
> Competitive, energetic and self-starter
> Strong writing and organizational skills
> Enjoy a fast paced environment with a desire to win
> Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
