Experience:
Duties and Responsibilities of the position are: plan news coverage as directed by the news management; assign crews to stories and breaking news, using appropriate logistical and journalistic judgment; make calls to news sources as needed gaining appropriate information; assist in finding stories, doing research and tracking story ideas in assignment desk; write and post content to the web as required; perform other duties as needed and as directed by news management; must communicate clearly and be able to deal effectively and politely with the public in person and over the telephone; must possess exceptional news judgment and organizational skills; must possess in depth knowledge of current events; ability to select stories for reporting and effectively coordinate coverage with newsroom staff and the public and; ability to write copy for the newscasts.
Requirements:
The Assignment Editor also must be able to multi-task and mentally juggle any number of things while still keeping things organized; must be comfortable asking perfect strangers for information and interviews; must be detail-oriented; and must be confident and able to give direction.
Additional Information:
