KPCC.org, the award-winning website for the Southern California Public Radio, is seeking an Associate Visuals Producer to join our photo and video team. The Associate Producer will help produce videos and photos to complement and enhance the station’s multi-platform programming.

Position Responsibility:
• Play an integral role in maintaining and elevating KPCC.org's visual standards.
• Work across the newsroom with reporters and editors to seek out visual opportunities and act on them
• Work with editors and visual journalists to coordinate assignments across the newsroom.
• Work with KPCC journalists to ensure their visual work gets on the site and meets the Southern California Public Radio's high standards.
• Help maintain KPCC.org's presence on social media networks and on-site blogs.
• Train reporters and producers on posting photography and videos to website.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience:
• A bachelor's degree, preferably in journalism or photography-related field.
• 3-5 years of experience editing and producing web video content and preparing for publication.
• Experience working in a fast-paced newsroom environment.
• Experience with a wide range of camera and lens systems and experience using several different kinds of cameras.
• Experience training others on photography and videography
• Visual asset management experience.
• Reel or portfolio of previous work.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
• Proven, strong photography and videography skills, capable of taking on assignments and pursuing enterprising visual reporting.
• Understanding of the video capture process.
• A high degree of visual literacy and strong visual storytelling skills.
• Knowledge of how to construct web video features.
• Strong writing, editing, research & communication skills.
• Knowledge of and interest in current affairs.
• Ability to manage several different projects at once.
• Good time management skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines as assigned.
• Advanced knowledge of Final Cut Pro, Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom and Premiere
• Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, Word, & wire services
• Upbeat, constructive, 'can-do' attitude.

Preferred Skills and Experience:
• Experience reporting and producing radio journalism.
• Knowledge of Pro Tools or Adobe Audition.
• Willing to think 'outside the box' of conventional journalistic style.
