The National Student Advertising Competition (NSAC) team is looking for a few good men and women for the spring competition. You need a competitive streak and a commitment to forgo Spring Break for a shot at a second national championship.
NSAC is the premier student advertising competition in the country with more than 150 schools participating. Schools develop a complete marketing plan from an actual case study for a national brand. UNL teams have won the district competition for four consecutive years and moved on to nationals where students received an expense-paid trip to compete against other district finalists. In June students traveled to Austin where they placed 1st in the nation. The competition provides great networking opportunities and many participants have moved on to top jobs in the industry.
This year’s client is Glidden with a $20 million budget. You may apply as account planners/interactive strategists, research, graphic/interactive designers, copywriters, cinematographers, and media. You are welcome to apply for multiple positions but please make sure the work you submit reflects your area of interest.
If you are talented, motivated, and able to work within an advertising agency structure please send a single PDF doc or a link to your website including a cover letter detailing what contributions you would make to the agency and at least one reference with contact information to Michael Goff: mgoff1@unl.edu
Hardcopy portfolios can be dropped off to my attention in Andersen 147 or room 105. Deadline is Oct. 19. Later you’ll receive additional information about joining our Facebook page, “2013 UNL NSAC/Glidden Forum.”
Good luck and thanks for your interest in NSAC.
Michael Goff and Rich Bailey
P.S. NSAC has its own course number now, ADPR 439, which will require a permission code to register. It is an ACE 10 course, and takes the place of Campaigns (489) in the ADPR major.
