Position Summary:

Part-time internship (20 hours/week) for approximately 6 months in length


The Community Impact Communications Intern is responsible for telling the stories of community impact to employees and stakeholders in a variety of platforms. The ideal intern will be creative with excellent communications skills and well versed in social media tools. This intern reports to the Managing Director, Inclusion and Community Impact.

Position Responsibility:

• Write, edit and initiate Social media communication for internal audiences (Tumblr; Chatter; Twitter; Facebook) for Community Impact and Inclusion Department at APM.
• Develop and maintain sustainable communication systems for Inclusion and Community Impact department.
• Create publicity for Inclusion Council events.
• Attend community listening sessions and community leader meetings.
• Follow up with community leaders to obtain feedback.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience:

Preference given to students currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program, or who have graduated within 12 months from the start of the internship
MS Office experience preferred

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

• Strong written communication and creative skills
• Ability to meet deadlines and work independently
• Experience with social media platforms
• Knowledge of MS Office

• Must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with or without reasonable accommodation
• Physical Demands:
o Required to move about in an office environment and sit for extended periods of time
o Frequent use of hands for data entry/keystrokes and simple grasping.
• Working Conditions:
o Moderate noise level
o Occasional exposure to prevalent weather conditions.
