Position Summary: The Broadcast Operations Technician III operates systems and performs technical quality control on all selected media. Maintains, verifies or produces paperwork, programming and operational procedures. Performs crisis management on all programming issues. Responsible for departmental requirements of on air operations. May be required to provide oversight and training of staff.

1. Responsible for coordinating live event programming. Troubleshoots problems involving signal path, media, programming, and logs.

2. Ingest, Encode and performs technical quality control checks on a variety of media.

3. Ensures effective communications and service excellence between Master Control and internal/external customers including program providers and corporate departments.

4. Reports, reviews, and determines impact of outages and recommends or performs preventative/corrective actions

5. Prepares reports for external use detailing technical discrepancies.

6. Maintains logs and inputs data into established databases and assists in the development of new databases.

7. Ensures escalation procedures to report non-conforming media are followed.

8. Participates in the development and implementation of processes, procedures, and training materials while providing mentoring and training to junior members of the team.

9. Recommends policies for the effective operation of the department.

10. Shift work may be required.
Makes recommendations to superiors regarding Standard Operating Procedures, Training and Workflow Decisions.

Education/Experience/Certification Requirements:
Associates degree in a related field or, one year of related experience and/or training, and one year of experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
1. Ability to read, analyze and interpret business periodicals and technical procedures

2. Ability to write reports, correspondence/procedure manuals, and present information and respond to questions from managers, customers and general public.

3. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

4. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

5. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Work Conditions: Working conditions are normal for a 24/7 office environment. Work will require weekend and evening work.
