The Lincoln Public Schools Immigrant and Refugee Winter Drive is collecting items for 21 immigrant and refugee families around Lincoln.
The drive is seeking household items such as coats and boots and cleaning supplies, as well as gift cards for getting gasoline or groceries. Donations can be dropped off through Dec. 14 at the LPS Federal Programs Office at 949 W. Bond St. as well as on the University of Nebraska-Lincoln campus at the College of Journalism and Mass Communications in Andersen Hall, 200 Centennial Mall North. Shuster Mijangos also said UNL’s Pi Beta Phi sorority also is helping. And she plans to collect from family and friends and in her neighborhood, too.
