Position Summary:
Join public radio’s leading regional newsroom for the summer! Our interns get real-world broadcast media experience. You’ll research, write, and help produce for one of our flagship programs, All Things Considered. Your job – help us make radio by assisting in the daily production of the show.
The intern must be able to earn one college credit. Working hours may vary.
Position Responsibility:
Duties will include researching stories, logging tape, assisting with production, and working on special projects.
Required Education and Experience:
• Currently enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program, preferably with an emphasis in journalism, communications or a related field
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
• Keen knowledge of current events
• Basic audio and Web production skills
• Able to follow directions and work on tight deadlines
Preferred Skills and Experience:
• Previous work in high school or college media
Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
• Must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with or without reasonable accommodation

o Required to move about in an office environment and sit for extended periods of time
o Required to move about in the community
o Frequent use of hands for data entry/keystrokes and simple grasping

o Moderate noise level

This internship is part-time and unpaid. Our offices are located in downtown St. Paul. Applications will be accepted until 3/1/13. Relocation allowance is not available.
