NPR's Planet Money team is looking for a visual journalist bursting with great ideas who can lay out a compelling vision and execute on it. Someone great. We’re not exactly sure what your title would be, but here’s what we’d like you to do:
Essential Duties Include:
Tell stories with any combination of data, drawings, photos, videos. Words, too, if you need them. Your job, should you choose to accept it, will have you producing your own work, coaching others and running freelancers, all at the same time.
Work with a talented group of journalists. For the most part, we choose which stories we want to tell, and we work together to come up with the freshest, most entertaining ways to tell them. We want you to be part of this process.
Think big. Join us in asking questions like this: How can we reveal a truth that’s buried and hard to find? Or tell the fascinating and bizarre back story of something we take entirely for granted? How can we make people see things in a totally different way?
Qualifications:
Required
Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Preferred
It would be nice, but not mandatory, for you to have some experience in some of the following areas:
Talent making charts and designing quantitative information
Blogging
Data journalism, spreadsheet and database skills
Web-native design experience using HTML, Javascript and CSS
Photography, photo editing, videography
Handling freelance contracts

A background in economics or finance
Does this sound like you? If so, we want to hear from you.
