The Daily Nebraskan is seeking an experienced Graphic Designer to join their advertising staff. This position will begin on commission and move up to a part-time hourly position beginning Fall 2014. Fun team-based working environment. This is a hands-on learning experience that will give you real world involvement to add to your portfolio.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Design/posting of information of signs/posters.
Assist in the layout and pagination of the newspaper daily.
Prepare all artwork for print, internet, and collateral for events.
Participation in staff events.
Accompany current account execs on some sales calls.
Requirements
Graphic design experience or courses. Additional experience that demonstrates the acquisition and successful application of the required knowledge, skills and abilities of print and online ads.
Ability to use computer software including Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
Expert-Intermediate experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator), Email and Internet.
Currently enrolled at UNL as a Sophomore-Senior, earning a degree in Advertising, Marketing, Communications, Graphic Arts/Design or related field.
Creativity and Organizational skills a must, positive attitude required
