Casper Star-Tribune: Summer journalism internship

The Casper Star-Tribune is looking for a smart, energetic journalism student to join our newsroom staff for the summer of 2014. We’re seeking someone who wants to have their stories and photos on A1 and receive prominent play on our website, Trib.com, every single day. Not a reporter or photographer? We’ll also consider an up-and-coming editor who wants to learn how to improve stories, write headlines, proof pages and post stories to Trib.com on the fly. We’ll construct the internship to the needs and wants of the best overall candidate, and we’re giving preference to students who can demonstrate a vision for where our industry is headed and who wants to work in the field after graduation.

It’s not all work, of course, during the summer in Wyoming. We have an established, historic small-town feel, but with our offerings of movie theaters, restaurants, shopping and the arts, we also provide a worthwhile social experience. Miss the big city? Denver is an easy drive. Want some privacy? We’re at the base of a beautiful mountain range where you can hike and get a breath of fresh air. Outdoor opportunities are endless. We love it here.

The Casper Star-Tribune is a Lee Enterprises news organization with a daily circulation of about 23,000, and we take great pride in having a statewide following and being the largest news organization in Wyoming. This is a paid internship. We are an equal opportunity employer. You can see our website at http://www.trib.com and learn more about our company at http://www.lee.net.

If this sounds like you, then send a cover letter detailing your reporting, photography, editing, design, online and social media experience at http://www.trib.com/workhere. Also, please send three to five work samples to editor Jason Adrians at jason.adrians@trib.com.
