Big Ten Network is looking for student journalists to showcase UNL stories

BTN is committed to showcasing and supporting the best of each Big Ten university. For four years BTN’s pro-social initiative BTN LveB1G has told stories of those who are making a difference.

BTN LiveB1G is looking for student journalists to tell these stories for a program called BTN LiveB1G Share a Solution. Share a Solution builds on a growing movement in journalism called solutions journalism, reporting that includes what people are doing to solve problems, highlighting not just news of their successes, but details on how or why the approach is working.

BTN LiveB1G is looking for student journalists to investigate and report on how people from our university are creating credible responses to social problems through research, education and community service.

• Eligible students can email stories to Jeanette@galewill.com by April 18, 2014.
• Each story should focus on a student, staff member, faculty member or alumni from UNL who is making a positive impact on his/her community.
• Stories can be created for any and all media, including print, online, radio, and television/video.
• Story must have been created between September 2013 to present.

Five stories will be awarded the inaugural BTN LiveB1G Solutions Journalism Award in May and will be featured in a special post on http://www.btnlivebig.com.
