Compensation: Beginning at $10.50
Hours: 15 to 20 hours per week (Office hours are 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. Majority of internship hours will fall within business hours but some weekend and evening hours will be required.
Position Title: Advertising/Marketing/Recruitment Intern

The Office of Online & Distance Education is an innovative organization charged with increasing new student enrollments in the University’s online and distance education courses and programs. As such, the office works closely with the academic colleges to conduct well-planned and researched student recruitment and outreach initiatives aligned with academic college and University priority enrollment goals.

Position description:
Year-round student internship beginning immediately for an advertising or marketing student. The objective of this position is to provide the student the opportunity to build his or her portfolio while helping the distance education recruiting team complete projects.

• Research and present data on recruiting, promotion, and marketing tactics that develops critical information about potential target student groups.
• Provide analysis as assigned on potential students by program, market share by program, key competitors, and/or recruiting campaign results.
• Represent and attend on behalf of UNL Online at events and promotional activities.
• Prepare mailing and emailing lists of target audience members.
• Opportunity for professional development and mentoring.

Minimum qualifications:
Full time UNL Advertising or Marketing student. Must be self -motivated, organized, detail-minded, team-oriented and have the ability to manage multiple tasks at one time. Innovative and creative with the ability to work in a fast paced environment. Outstanding written and oral communications skills essential. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Package, particularly Excel database functions.
