Position Summary

The Civic Health Program Manager will be responsible for managing and creating programs that substantively engage Nebraskans in our communities, measure civic health, and create initiatives to increase civic engagement with local and national partners.

This is a full-time position that will report to the executive director and will work closely with the Director of Civic Engagement Programs. The position will be based out of our Lincoln, Nebraska, headquarters.

Responsibilities
Manage and promote the launch of the 2014 Nebraska Civic Health Index with our partner the National Conference on Citizenship.
Manage the Nebraska Civic Health Partnership consisting of non-profits, school districts, and state agencies and departments.
Serve as the point person and direct all media relations and promotion of the 2014 Civic Health Index and partnership.
Help draft the final 2014 Civic Health Index.
Coordinate the creation of a unified vision to improve civic health in Nebraska based on the partnership's findings and National Conference on Citizenship Analysis of civic health in Nebraska.
Draft promotional materials and information briefs for the program and update the website and social media outlets.
Manage the Rural Futures Initiative Youth Engagement Grant program between UNL's Agricultural Leadership, Education and Communications Department, and Nebraskans for Civic Reform.
Engaging undergraduate youth with high school youth in substantive service learning opportunities in rural communities outside of Lincoln through project coordination and partnerships with participating high schools.
Managing assessment deployment to measure program effectiveness and outcomes.
Creating partnerships in rural communities for successful service learning project implementation.
Draft and create promotional materials and program curriculum.
Some grant development and writing.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree required.
Excellent writing, research, and analytical skills.
Excellent public communications skills with media, social media, and other outlets.
Ability to work independently and task oriented.
Prior non-profit program management experience preferred.
A history of prior commitment to public and community service.
