App due for Innocents Society Friday, Jan. 23 at 4 p.m.

The Innocents Society is currently accepting applications for both membership and freshman scholarships. They are due no later than 4 p.m. Friday, Jan. 23.

The Innocents Society is one of the highest honors you can receive at this university. It's one of the oldest traditions on campus. And it's a chance to make 12 friends for life.

Each year 13 new members are selected based on superior academic achievement, unparalleled leadership, and selfless service. Unlike most senior honoraries, the Innocents Society is uniquely Nebraskan, forming a link between the faculty and the student body while guarding significant University of Nebraska traditions. In addition, the Innocents Society prides itself in being an active organization. The juniors accepted into membership of the Innocents Society are expected to give significant time and energy to the organization.

UNL Innocents is on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/innocentssociety). Follow along for the countdown to the 12 reasons for joining.

The current members of the Innocents Society want to pass along a few tips and reminders:

- The Innocents Society does not require a reference letter.
- All applications for the Innocents Society are anonymous. This gives the chance for your personality and body of work to show through, not your name.
- The preference form for the honoraries is confidential.
- When you're done, hand in your applications in 106 Canfield by 4 p.m.
- Don't forget to make two copies of your application and label “Innocents Society” on the envelope!

Please direct questions regarding the application or the organization to Larissa Krenk (larissa.krenk@gmail.com) or Brittney Moriarty (b.moriarty11@gmail.com).
