UNL Campus Rec Marketing & Promotion Graduate Assistant

Under the guidance of the Senior Associate Director and the Senior Assistant
Director for Marketing & Communications, the graduate assistant will receive an extensive experience in a comprehensive Campus Recreation marketing program for two years. Responsibilities will include assisting with the marketing, advertising, and public relations activities of Campus Recreation; assisting with recruitment and training of student staff; assisting in the production of departmental print, social media, photography and video materials; writing press releases and editing copy for publications and multi-media; aiding in the design of the Fall and Spring Event Guides, Alumni Newsletter, campus recruitment and retention events, as well as marketing for other special events including GET REC’D; assisting with budget preparation and implementation; and other duties as assigned. Opportunities exist for exposure to all areas within Campus Recreation.

$1,455/month, full tuition waiver up to 12 credits/semester and health insurance (79 percent paid by UNL).

QUALIFICATIONS
Campus Recreation graduate assistants must have related experience in graphic design, writing, photography, video production, and marketing. Competencies and credentials include excellent writing and speaking skills, experience with photography, social media and/or web design, a working knowledge of
Macintosh operating system, Adobe Creative Suite software, MS Office, as well as aspirations toward a career in marketing or a related field, preferably within recreational sports.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
The University of Nebraska offers Graduate Degree Programs more than 70 fields of study, including: Athletic Administration; Business Administration; Integrated Media Communications; Advertising; Marketing; Nutrition and Health Science; and Fine Arts. Minimum requirements include a Bachelor's Degree (2.75-3.00 minimum undergraduate G.P.A.) from an accredited college or university, and an educational background that satisfies the academic graduate entrance requirements of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Candidates should take the GRE/GMAT if required prior to application and should realize that entrance to the Graduate College is competitive.
