2-week summer session special topics course - State Games of America

You can be on the same team as Olympic hurdler and bobsledder Lolo Jones and Olympic wrestler Jordan Burroughs (gold medalist and Nebraska wrestler). Join the CoJMC student team that will cover this summer’s 2015 State National Games of America.

CoJMC students will receive course credit by training for and providing national media coverage and public relations support for the July 28- August 2 State National Games of America competition.

State National Games of America competition venues in Lincoln and Omaha will feature an estimated 20,000 athletes from across America who will compete in more than 60 events. It’s a great learning experience for students who will receive three hours credit in a Special Topics course being offered for the State National Games of America.

The two-week special topics class is for students interested in learning how to provide coordinated broadcast and media coverage of a large-scale sporting event that attracts national media coverage.

The 2015 State National Games of America class is open to all CoJMC students.

The CoJMC Special Topics class will spend one week training students (video/photo/editing/digital content/public relations) to cover the games. During the second week, students will create content and be part of the CoJMC team covering and promoting this real-time sporting event. It’s an intense two weeks. It’s also incredibly fun and rewarding. We hope you’ll join the CoJMC team covering the 2015 State National Games of America.
