Job Responsibilities:
• Oversee content on the website
• Manage web staff
• Write copy for the website
• Post video and slide shows to the website
• Work with reporters and news producers to generate copy, video and images for the website
• Oversee the television station’s social media efforts
• Work with sales and promotion to post content of various types to the website
• Work to increase page views and sessions
• Establish and meet web goals
• Work with corporate managers and hub
• Create and produce content that drives page views and sessions
• Perform tasks on tight deadlines
Experience Requirements:
• Experience writing and producing content for the web
• Television web experience preferred
• Television producing experience a plus.
Qualifications Requirements:
• Two years’ experience producing content for a news website.
• Television producing experience a plus.
• Flexible
• Ability to get along with diverse working groups.
• Strong management skills
• Understanding of libel and other legal issues
• Strong writer
• Creativity
Education:
• Bachelor’s Degree in multimedia journalism, journalism, broadcast journalism or a related field. Experience will be considered in lieu of education.
