Internships Reno Gazette-Journal

The internship is a paid, 12-week commitment. However, start/end date is flexible, depending on intern's college schedule. Interns are expected to work 40-hour weeks with some nights and weekends as a member of our team.

Applicants must be able to receive college credit for the internship, in addition to the stipend for the 12-week internship period. Underclassmen are preferred, but spring 2015 graduates may be considered as merited. Please indicate expected graduation date on résumé.

The RGJ will help interns find housing, but interns must be able to provide their own transportation for the summer.

Interns will work directly with current RGJ staff members in story and concept development, story editing and multimedia production. Familiarity with iPhones and producing videos on iPhones is a plus. Social media acumen also is preferred. The general assignment writing internship will include some sports coverage.

To apply, please submit a cover letter, current résumé and no more than three clips in a Word document or PDF via email to audience analyst Caren Roblin at croblin@rgj.com.

Deadline for applications is Friday, April 17. The RGJ will contact finalists for more information and to set up a phone interview by Wednesday, April 22. Applicants who are not contacted by that time will not be contacted further and can consider the process closed. All applications must be submitted by email; no hard copies or phone calls please.
