Archived Story: This article is part of our newsletter archives. It has been preserved for reference, but the information may no longer be current.

The Roanoke Times, Southwest Virginia’s largest newspaper, is seeking a talented journalist for a paid summer internship, including regular and in-depth reporting and a mix of hard news and features writing. Our interns cover breaking news, generate story ideas and work on long-term projects while juggling daily assignments. Interns become part of a staff working in a team environment with other reporters, editors and photographers. College newspaper or equivalent experience is required. So, too, is a demonstrated ability to write clearly, accurately and with flair. Previous intern experience strongly preferred. If you’re right for the job, email a cover letter, three to five samples of your best work and a resume with references to Managing Editor Lee Wolverton at lee.wolverton@roanoke.com by Feb. 5, 2016.
