Break Into Business News: How to Get Hired at CNBC

CNBC is thrilled to be hosting its first invitation-only educational workshop focused on business journalism at the 2016 NABJ and NAHJ Annual Convention and 2016 AAJA National Convention. This workshop is targeted to entry-level convention attendees from the Class of 2016 as well as recent college and post-graduates who are current NABJ, NAHJ, and/or AAJA members and are registered for one of the 2016 Conventions. Convention attendees will need to apply to be invited to the workshop.
Invited workshop attendees may have an opportunity to pursue further employment opportunities within CNBC. By applying to attend this workshop, applicants are also applying for a position as a CNBC Business News Associate. At the end of each session, three workshop attendees will be invited to visit CNBC Global Headquarters to interview for a job as a CNBC Business News Associate.
Our workshop, Break Into Business News: How to Get Hired at CNBC, will feature:
? A panel of seasoned CNBC professionals describing their roles at the network and sharing how CNBC’s guiding principles and best practices influence their work as business journalists
? An interactive breaking news simulation designed to teach the concepts, skills, and techniques CNBC professionals utilize daily to break down complex information about business, markets, and the economy
? Individual interviews with CNBC professionals
To request an application to this free workshop, interested applicants should send their resumes and contact info to biznewsassociate@cnbc.com by April 22, 2016. We will review submitted resumes and send applications to eligible candidates. Due to the high volume of resumes we receive, we regret that we will only be able to send applications to attend the workshop to those in whom we have interest.
