RESPONSIBILITIES: Execute communications tactics necessary for the branding, marketing and fundraising for the organization. Work closely with management to write content, conduct public relations activities, execute events and other promotion. In cooperation with Fundraising Manager, maintain donor database, conduct appeals and manage correspondence with donors. The ideal candidate would be creative and strategic and would be willing to learn fundraising and donor development.
DUTIES:
1. Manage all forms of digital media including social media, email marketing and website including generating content ideas, writing and photography
2. Execute public relations activities including media pitches, press releases and responding to media inquiries.
3. Plan and execute fundraising and programmatic events by leading committees, coordinating logistics, generating sponsorships, managing attendees, promotion, etc
4. Execute direct mail including event invitations, appeals, reports, etc. Write content, create list, work with designer, printer and mail house.
5. Serve as the primary guardian of the agency’s brand. Write content for and oversee all graphic design for printed materials and all marketing.
6. Write content for grant applications and reports. Research potential grant opportunities.
7. With supervision from Fundraising Manager, maintain database of donors and supporters, generating reports and donor correspondence.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum 3-5 years experience working in the field of communications, marketing, advertising, public relations or similar. Understanding of nonprofits and graphic design experience preferred but not required.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, Demonstrated proficiency in working with technology for marketing and fundraising success. Ideal candidate would be willing and able to build relationships with potential and existing donors.
EDUCATION: Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in related field required.
