The Reynolds Journalism Institute at the Missouri School of Journalism is offering a free workshop for reporting on the science of biotechnology but pre-registration is required. The workshop is from Sept. 30 to Oct. 1.
The reporting contest awards a $2,000 or $1,000 scholarship or the chance to win a trip to a biotechnology conference overseas.
The agenda includes:
• St. Louis Post-Dispatch Biotech Reporter Georgina Gustin
• Point/counter point between a prominent biotech proponent and a prominent biotech opponent
• Tour the labs at the National Center for Soybean biotechnology and the farm at the Bradford Research Center
• Free lunch, bus transportation to and from the farm, door prizes
