Communications Intern, UNL Office of Sustainability

The UNL Office of Sustainability (OS) is looking for a qualified communications intern to join our office. The OS provides support for initiatives within the UNL campuses and community to create a culture of faculty, staff and students who are socially, economically and environmentally responsible. The OS is working diligently to make smart choices for Nebraska, but needs your to help spread that message.

Responsibilities:

-Build content for sustainability website
-Draft, distribute and pitch news releases, media alerts and other stories
-Assist in planning, writing and managing monthly newsletter
-Assist in developing social media content
-Collaborating with staff on new ideas, directions, and venues for marketing and communications
-Copy editing

Requirements:

-Must be a UNL undergraduate student in communities, journalism or related major
-Demonstrates a proficiency Microsoft Office programs
-Excellent written and verbal communication, strong editing skills
-Self-motivated, good organizational skills, detail-oriented, ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines
-Ability to work in a team with limited supervision
-Has an interest in learning about sustainability and the environment
