Washington, D.C., Media Tour: Information on tour locations

Still on the fence about joining us in D.C.?

Not only will you be in our nation’s capital to see and experience all that the city has to offer, you will have the chance to meet professionals in the field. Who knows where your networking will take you…maybe an internship with The Washington Post?

-The Washington Post

Founded in 1877, The Washington Post is considered one of America’s leading newspapers. This newspaper also has a great summer internship program for upperclassmen and graduate students to really build up their portfolio and professional network.

Plus, if you have any burning questions to ask about what it’s like covering current events in D.C., or how they use social media to report on politicians, THIS would be the time.

Perhaps on the trip you’ll rub elbows with your state Senator or with a Representative?

-Senator Deb Fischer’s Office, U.S. Capitol, & House and Senate Chambers

We’ll meet with Nebraska Senator Deb Fischer (she’s a UNL alumna by the way) and her team. Ask her how advertising and PR plays a role in her job or maybe ask her about her UNL days?

After visiting with Fischer and crew, we’ll tour the U.S. Capitol and see where our nation’s laws are created in the House and Senate Chambers. Exciting, right?!?!

Who else here listens to NPR???

-NPR

After our tour of NPR Headquaters, you’ll appreciate the mission-driven, multimedia organization and its network of member stations nationwide. Within the fairly new HQ (NPR moved to its present location in 2013), we’ll see the collaborative space housing NPR News, NPR Music, programming, and digital staff working together to bring us such programs as "Morning Edition" and "All Things Considered."
