Job Summary: Friendship Home, Lincoln’s shelter for victims of domestic violence, is looking for the right person for our Development Coordinator position. This person is responsible for coordinating all special events, media relations and managing our social media platforms, writing and design layout for fundraising materials, community education, data entry and reporting for special events and working closely with our development team to assist with donor cultivation, appreciation and fundraising efforts. This is a full-time position with competitive compensation and benefits.

Education and Work Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Advertising, Public Relations, Marketing or Communications-related degrees preferred. At least two years of experience coordinating special events or two years in non-profit fundraising activities desired. Experience with Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite preferred. Compensation commensurate with experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

-Serve as a member of the Development and Administrative teams.
-Coordinate all special events (i.e. Stuff the Bus, Safe Quarters, Safe at Home Luncheon, Give to Lincoln Day campaign).
-Work with outside groups and volunteers as needed for internal and external special events.
-Manage media relations and social media platforms – Facebook, Twitter, Constant Contact, etc.
-Manage website and website development in cooperation with our design company.
-Act as a liaison with marketing firm for timely production of Friendship Home mailings.
-Create fundraising materials, newsletter articles, letters and news releases.
-Develop relationships with media contacts and responds to media inquiries.
-Coordinate Friendship Home speakers and/or representatives for community education opportunities as well as conducts presentations and community education.
-Work closely with Development Team to assist with donor development, appreciation and fundraising events.
-Prepare agendas and materials, attends meetings and record minutes of the Mission Advancement Team.
-Assist in Annual Campaign by creating individualized campaign materials.
-Enter and track donor information in database relating to Mission Advancement, special events and community education and prepare reports as needed.
-Assist with setup and prepare materials for donor cultivation presentations, in addition to filling in for speaking roles when needed.
-Solicitation and coordination of in-kind gifts.
-Supervise office volunteers and interns working on Development projects.
-Track and process expenses for fundraising events.
-Record and respond to donor inquiries.
-Coordinate and process car donations.
-Research additional or new funding sources.
-Respond to requests for assistance and/or information from Board Members or volunteers as needed.
-Assist with special projects and tasks as assigned by the Development Director.
