Summer Internship Program - AWSM

AWSM is a non-profit organization founded as a support network and advocacy group for women in sports. We work to promote and increase diversity in sports media - and one of our hallmark programs is this summer program, which has placed more than 150 women in paid internships since 1990.

We have up to 10 paid internships (all of which are supplemented by $1,000 scholarships) available to female college students who are sophomores and older. The internships fall into three categories: print/digital (reporting at a newspaper/magazine/website), broadcast journalism (production and occasionally on-air work) and media relations (PR, etc. for a team or league).

Last summer, our winners spent their summers working at Sports Illustrated, ESPN, the Golf Channel, MLB.com, USA Today and CNN.

In addition to the paid internship and scholarship, recipients will receive complimentary registration and lodging for our 2018 convention.

The deadline for applications is Oct. 31. Please visit http://awsmonline.org/apply-awsm-scholarshipinternship-program-oct-31/ to apply.
