As we refresh computers and address storage concerns in the CoJMC labs, all students will need to be aware of the following changes.
Please back up any files located on classroom/lab computers before 5 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 18 to ensure that files are not lost during the upcoming refresh. If you are wishing to save any local files, please back them up to another storage service or device.
On Tuesday, Dec. 19 all classroom/lab computers will be wiped and reconfigured with macOS version 10.12 (Sierra) and Adobe Creative Cloud 2018 for the spring semester. At that time, all local files on these computers will be deleted.
Beginning with this new software refresh, the jmc-user and any individual Active Directory login accounts on lab/classroom computers will be refreshed after 12 hours of account inactivity and all local files will be deleted. This will resolve an issue with lab computers running out of space (especially at the end of the semester). It is imperative that students save their work to the appropriate network shared drive (BigFileCab, BigPhotoBox, etc) before logging off for the day.
