Reggie Rivers, professional broadcaster and motivational speaker, will be the keynote speaker of the 2018 Hearst Speaker Series on Diversity & Modern Media. The event is sponsored by the University of Nebraska-Lincoln College of Journalism and Mass Communications.

The talk will focus on diversity in sports and communications. Rivers will speak at the CoJMC in Andersen Hall, room 15 on Wednesday, Feb. 28 at 7 p.m. Seating is available on a first-come, first-serve basis, and admission to the event is free.

Reggie Rivers is a former NFL running back who played six seasons with the Denver Broncos during the 1990s. Reggie is a media personality and business owner, who has worked in newspaper, radio and television in Denver. He graduated from Texas State University with a degree in Journalism, and he earned a Master’s Degree in Global Studies from the University of Denver. He has written five books, the latest is the award winning novel, “The Colony:A Political Tale”.
