KETV Hearst Television’s ABC affiliate in Omaha, NE has an opening for a part time producer/editor/photographer. This person will be the part time newscast producer and video editor.
Job Responsibilities:
-Produce newscasts primarily for weekend mornings
-Fill in producing for other newscasts
-Set up live shots and interviews as well as gatherer information for news stories
-Edit video for news broadcasts two days per week and as needed for fill-in
-Time and booth newscasts
-Shoot video when needed and as other duties allow
-Perform tasks on tight deadlines
Experience Requirements:
-Experience producing television newscasts. Will consider a beginner with the right skills.
-Experience editing video in a news environment on tight deadlines
Qualifications Requirements:
-Ability to produce and time newscast
-Ability to edit video under tight deadlines
-Demonstrated ability produce newscasts under tight deadlines
-Strong writing and grammar skills
-Understanding of journalism principles and libel laws
-Leadership
-Ability to carry 30 pounds of camera equipment
-Ability to perform work in adverse weather conditions
-Ability to stand for extended periods of time
Education:
-Bachelor or Associate Degree in journalism or related field. Experience in lieu of education will be considered.
